Fast Track Lisa Keller
November 7, 2019
Triathlete, stellar coach, and lifelong Alaskan Lisa Keller joins Hear Her Sports again with this clip cut from the full episode. When we spoke back in the spring, Lisa and I had a terrific and quite long chat so, for sake of length, something had to go. I’ve always been sad about that and wanted to get this section posted somehow, so here we are.
In Fast Track, Lisa talks about being a cancer survivor and an athlete. Early on she mentions Alaska Run for Women, which is a women only race started in 1993 to raise money and awareness of breast cancer. Lisa is one of the founding board members before she got cancer herself. In 2002 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and since then has won the survivor division of the run many times.
As a kid, Lisa played lots of sports in leagues and in school as well as just being active in the wilderness around Anchorage. She now focuses on coaching through her company Multisport Training of Alaska and on competing in triathlons.
She is a past winner of the Gold Nugget Triathlon and the Eagle River Triathlon and is a two-time Alaska Triathlete of the Year and has achieved All-American status in USA Triathlon age group rankings.
