Episode 79: Patricia Destine Row New York
March 12, 2020
Patricia Destine has been a middle school coach at Row New York for seven years. Row New York develops mentally and physically strong student athletes, has built a sense of family, and continues to support participants once they leave the program. Patricia started in the program as a high schooler, still rows herself, kickboxes, and is working towards a career as Youth Development Personal Sports Specialist.
Patricia gives us a terrific insight into young athletes because she’s been working with these kids for years and because she’s only 22. We talk about middle school girls leaving sports and how to prevent that, nutrition, and athletes versus models.
Row New York believes that the unique combination of rowing plus academic support develops confidence and cultivates a strong work ethic, regardless of background or ability.
