Episode 59: Naya Tapper Scoring Machine
This week I’m very happy to introduce rugby superstar Naya Tapper who was recently named the all time top try scorer for the USA Women's Eagles Sevens team. As she said, I’m fast, powerful, and I’m hard to take down so that’s kind of a try scoring machine, if you think about it.
Naya is originally from North Carolina, and attended college at The University of North Carolina, where she began her rugby career in 2012. She began playing for the USA Women's Eagles in 2016 and currently resides in Chula Vista California, where she trains at the Olympic Training Center with the USA Rugby Women's Sevens Team.
To start off the 2018 season Naya played in the Rugby World Cup Sevens, held in San Francisco in July. She was the second leading try scorer for the tournament. Every year there is an international tournament with stops all across the globe called the HSBC Sevens Series. This season Naya has traveled and competed in Colorado, Dubai, and Sydney. Naya was recently named the all time top try scorer for the USA Women's Eagles Sevens team.
