Episode 39: Kristen Lamb grew up surrounded by female athlete role models
Joining me this week is triathlete and coach, Kristen Lamb, which she attributes to her very energetic mom, who coached St Lawrence field hockey and lacrosse teams as well as running the athletic department. We talk about that, playing ice hockey with the boys up until high school, and her current passion the ironman.
She’s also a mom. She's been called selfish for taking time away from her family to train. We also talk about some other barriers women face to remain physically active throughout their lives.
As part of the Breakthrough Performance Coaching team, she coaches sprint, Olympic, half-Iron and Ironman triathletes.
Kristen competed in the Olympic distance at the Age Group World Championships in Auckland New Zealand and London with Team USA in 2012 and 2013. She received Honorable Mention recognition from USA Triathlon for the 2010 season and All American for years 2011 through 2017. In 2014 her focus shifted to Ironman; she is a 4-time Ironman finisher including one World Championship finish in Kona.
