Episode 110: Morgan Tuck Director of Franchise Development, Connecticut Sun
October 14, 2021
Morgan Tuck is the Director of Franchise Development for the Connecticut Sun. It was just this past March when Morgan, a five-year veteran of the WNBA, announced her retirement because her knees were not cooperating. As a player, she saw action in 125 games during her career and made back-to-back WNBA Finals appearances. In 2019, she helped the Sun force a five-game series against Washington in the finals and in 2020 she won the championship with the Seattle Storm. Morgan, a forward, was drafted by Connecticut in 2016 as the third overall pick. She spent four seasons with the Sun until 2020 when she was traded to Seattle. She concluded her WNBA career with 642 points, 273 rebounds and 97 assists. Prior to her time in the league, Morgan helped lead UConn women’s basketball to four consecutive national championships. In her senior year she earned WBCA All-American and AP Second Team All-America honors.
In her new role, back with the Sun, Morgan, among many other things, oversees the growth of "CHANGE CAN’T WAIT" a program developed to create positive change for all marginalized groups with focus on Black and Brown communities. This will be accomplished through year-round partnerships, advocacy, events, educational initiatives and materials and player appearances that move to eradicate systemic racism and oppression.
